F1 Australian Grand Prix
Today I went to the F1 Australian Grand Prix. I had wanted to go since my first year here, but never had the chance to. Finally this year, I decided to part with AUD68 to experience what it is like to watch the race live instead of on TV.

We went around 1pm, and the place was already quite full. There was an aerial show before the race began, which featured an F-18 (I think) and a jumbo Qantas passenger liner taking of right above our heads.

Then.. the race begins. We picked our spot at a hairpin corner where the cars slowed down considerably for us to have a good look. And also take pictures of course.

Kimi Raikonnen's Ferrari..

We then moved on to a straight, where we could see how fast the cars really were.. My lousy camera can't even take a clear picture of the cars coz they were just too fast..

When the race ended everyone stormed onto the track to catch a glimpse of the winner.

It was quite enjoyable I have to say. I used to play F1 Grand Prix, the computer game, back in 2003, and seeing the track and being on the track itself which looked exactly the way it did on the game, is quite a surreal experience...
