Belgrave Heights Convention this year had a different feel to it than previous years. I just don't know why. I led 2 singing sessions, still felt very nervous but glad that I had the opportunity to learn from it. The sermons were good while I was awake..haha. Nevertheless the weekend spent away from uni work had me feeling quite stressed thinking of the mountain of work ahead.
At the stroke of midnite on 9 April, I was 'surprised' by a birthday cake for me from the OCF people. Felt very privileged to have such thoughtful friends. On that night, some of us didn't sleep until 6am, but it was a wasted night as all we did was talk crap. I slept for an hour before going to do singspiration. Amazing that I could still walk straight with one hour's sleep!
After 20, birthdays are a thing no one looks forward to definitely.. coz as wm says, at 23, you're old, at 24, you're ancient, at 25, you're dead.. after that you're just fossil.. hmmm...I hope she was stoning when she said that.. oops pardon the pun.. waahahaha
I didn't have much time to reflect on my 23 years of existence with so many things going on at the moment. But one thing I've discovered is that the friends I cherish most are sometimes found when I'm not looking. And sometimes I tend to forget to appreciate those kind of friends because of my own selfishness and preoccupation with friends that I view as more important to me. I am in no doubt that I'm a lousy friend and I hope I can change for the better. Well, life gives you so many surprises and trials as we learned from the story of Jesus calming the storm, in BHC (see I WAS listening! haha..) Maybe one of those trials are birthdays.. dun quote me on this. it's probably out of context.. haha
I'll have to leave it here to get on my mountain of work. Before that ...many thanks to the people who have wished me and made my birthday a memorable one.. i thought i'll not put names here for privacy reason so you noe who you are folks (if you read this blog)
