weekends..
2 road trips in 2 weeks! was really refreshing to get away from the city for a bit. OK so the first of the road trips was to the ski resort of Mt Baw Baw. Was my first time seeing snow but sadly it wasn't snowing, instead it was raining. What lousy luck!

In the end, I didn't ski but ended up just walking around the place, in the freezing wet and cold. Couldn't really feel my hands and feet after the first hour. And my pants got so wet because of the rain and because I was stupid enough not to hire waterproof trousers. So all in all, it was a miserable, miserable trip. Plus the driver really pissed me off on the way back. How ignorant can someone get - No driving on Swanston St: Isn't that obvious?? I was so glad when I reached home. Thank goodness it was a day trip.

So, the next week, I was hoping for a better trip to Lakes Entrance. The planning was very impromptu but in the end it turned out really well. Really enjoyed the company of the people that went. On the first day, it was raining so we did the scenic forest drive. The brochure for "what to do on a rainy day" had "work out in the gym" listed which really cracked us up. anyway, the scenic drive was actually quite the opposite until we reached a historic wooden railway bridge seemingly in the middle of the forest. We explored the 'misty' area for a while and then camwhored for the rest of the time.

We then headed back to the accommodation to have a hearty burger meal prepared by sitcom house. Watched TV the whole night (everyone was too tired to do anything else). of all movies, zoolander (arghhh).

The next day, some of us went to see sunrise! kinda felt like the Wilson Prom roadtrip, which most would remember for my driving error which nearly caused a fatal crash :). The beach was amazing. Sun got blocked by a stupid hill though. After that some of us went to have drive-thru McD breakfast. The operator was kinda stupid but it was funny.

Then since it was such a fine sunny day we rented boats to go out fishing on the lakes! And the best thing was that we got to steer our own boats. They were really small boats with a single engine and went really slow..

It was great fun in my boat... great company. We didn't manage to catch any fish, they must have been scared away by the sound of our chatter. Fishing really is a boring sport. We were sitting at one spot for 5 minutes and decided there was no fish at that spot. Hahaha. It takes a lot of patience to fish man.. Alas, our road trip had to end after the fishing because we had to drive 5 hrs back to the city. Had fish and chips there before heading home.

The drive back felt quite fast because we played games in the car. But next day was so sleepy at work.. ahaha. Well that was probably the most fun I've had the whole year. Really enjoyed the company plus I got to take my long neglected SLR for a spin. Was interesting to note that out of 15 of us that went for the trip, 8 are working and 5 are final year students. Quite interesting dynamics. we're all getting old!! no wonder ocf feels different now..
